Overview
NCP is completely distinct from Naver Developers (Naver Login and search APIs). Maps, CLOVA, SMS, and IoT live here. For Korean businesses, NCP is easier than AWS for settlement and issuing VAT invoices.
Individual vs business
Businesses should register as corporate members.
Payment methods
Cards, bank transfer, and corporate cards all accepted.
Phone identity check
Real-name verification is required at signup.
Per-product activation
Maps, SMS, and others are enabled individually.
Step by Step
SIGNUP
Register at www.ncloud.com.
BILLING
Add a payment method before using paid products.
KEY
Issue auth keys used to call the APIs.
MAPS
Use the Naver Maps API in your project.
SMS
Use the text messaging service.
CLOVA
AI services such as OCR, Speech, and Premium Voice.
OPS
Set alerts to avoid runaway charges.
IAM
Grant least privilege to teammates.
Pitfalls
Confusing NCP with Naver Developers
Naver Login belongs to Naver Developers; Maps, SMS, and CLOVA are on NCP. The URLs are different.
Lost Secret Key
The Secret Key is shown only once at issuance. Lose it and you must reissue. If you suspect it leaked, revoke and reissue immediately.
Unregistered sender number
SENS only sends from numbers pre-registered with KCC. Registration takes 1–3 days.
Unexpected charges
Heavy Static Map / Directions usage can blow past the free tier. Set alerts.
Region considerations
Regions other than KR (Seoul) exist, but for Korean services the KR region wins on both network cost and latency.
Projects at JAICYLAB include everything from developer account setup to launch and ops.
